I thought material storage was a silly idea. I mean, I can store and recover tons of materials for a small fee from the material trader. Dyes are the same way, except you don't have those silly 1-9 remainders you can't sell to the trader.

I myself love the materials tab in storage. You can open the storage window go around the outpost as a walking material selling business, if you're into that sort of thing. Saves a lotta space too. Some people collect materials for future use. I do that.
I thought about this more and here's the thing. When GW first came out, we had four characters maximum and one storage for them to share. Now with Factions and Nightfall out, we have how many characters to share the storage? Even with the materials tab, the storage is hardly enough space for all the weapons, armor, and other items for all the characters to share. I had to purchase an extra character slot, even after using the NF bonus pack, to use a new character as more storage. I think it's time they double the size of storage. Make the increase in width, to provide more space for more tabs in the future.

What is a Keyring Style Sorage?
I'd love to have a dye tab in storage. What would also be a good idea would be to see what the inventory is of the other characters on my account.

This is another classic case of people being given somehting and wanting MORE, MORE, MORE!!!!! Be happy with what you've got. there are a LOT more materials than types of dyes, so material storage made sense. Ok, the last 1/2 bags are taken up by various upgrade components runes whatever on all my chars, incase I ever find a use for them or a buyer, but to be fair, I don't feel like that's such a bother.
Yes, we have more characters, but imo running out of space just means you need to manage it better. I have no mule, and each character has things relevant to his professions etc. and Storage has common stuff like dyes or holiday item (the consumables, not hats)

What do you keep in general storage if you dont have dyes? Now that I think about it, a special event extra stuff (such as Halloween items, Christmas items, etc) would be even more useful than dye storage.
|
I don't know about you, but my storage is full of trophy items, commendations, keys, and holiday items (witches brew and such, not even including holiday hats). Currently, I have 10 slots - 1 whole bag! - on one of my characters dedicated to dyes. Luckily I don't want much armor for him so I have enough space, but most of my characters are filled with 2 or 3 sets of armor, extra weapons and weapon mods, not to mention now inscriptions and insignias. It's a pain to shuffle around 10-11 slots everytime I want to dye something or just test dyes. And why wouldn't/shouldn't we stock up on dyes now -- especially with the bland gray world we now have for newly crafted armor?

ANet: please add dye and key storage

How do you reach this conclusion? Pretty much all my characters have 1-2 bags dedicated to armor, then there's alternate weapons and weapon mods/runes, and now insignias/inscriptions. That usually leaves 5-10 spots free in inventory. My storage is full with commendations, keys, holiday items, trophy items, etc etc, and my mule has extra stacks of basic crafting mats and trophy items for the Crystal Desert (max lvl weapons for heros and such). Then there's items to be sold and event hats, as well as dyes which take up a whole bag unto themselves.
There is not enough room without a team of mules. We've been asking for more storage for a long, long time, and the material tab was a beginning, but why can't there be more? Please, tell me how to manage this better.

/Need More Storage of ANY kind (aka Signed)
I would like to see all sorts of storage upgrade options. I would pay 5k/char just to have individual char storage - armor and weapons for my War alone takes up almost his entire inventory.
It's sad, I have a whole second account that is just storage at the moment! I know Anet wants to keep the economy in check by restricting hording of items, but I save a lot of materials for myself and my friends which keeps prices down by decreasing demand on our part. I think we should be able to store 4 stacks of common materials in our material storage, considering it takes 350(?) of each to craft a whole set of armor.

Just need more storage (otherwise where will I keep all these masks I seem to be gaining). I need to keep all the dyes I find, because I just don't have the gold to buy the ones I want and at the same time, that armor I want....

Need storage for dyes and armors. No need for storage of runes. You need a rune keep it for a bit, you don't sell it.

I want all my characters to have quick access to the collection of dyes i have, because having to relog 5 times to various mules and moving things around is just ubar-annoying, takes lots of time, and i'm sure that it also generates much more Anet's servers resource usage than simply adding 10 new slots in the Material Storage tab (10 bytes of data more to store per account).
Dye storage is not the most important though as the current storage system and size needs a huge improvement. Armor storage or big storage for customized items only (including armor), specific for every character is the most needed feature.
